Stella went on her first trip to Pennsylvania! This time of year is quite busy for Jarrett, so Stella and I went to PA solo. We flew through Houston and were able to meet my parents there. I was super nervous about flying there alone with Stella. We got to the airport extra early in the morning and Stella was in a great mood. The day before we left, we realized her bottom two teeth were coming in.
She started doing this smooshed face...its hilarious.
And we are off! The flight was packed. I got an inside seat with hopes the window would keep her occupied. It did for a while. She did wonderfully most of the flight, then she lost all of her patience. She was crying and trying to get away. The guy next to me then pulled out a puppy! He brought his dog in a little carrier under the seat. He held the carrier and let his dog peek out a bit. Her name was Ripley and she was a long hair doxen. Stella LOVED it and was happy the rest of the way.
We met up with my parents in Houston. We had a short delay but an empty flight!
After we finally made it to Mt. Jewett and Stella got to meet her Great Grandmother!
We stayed busy. We were out and about site seeing and running errands pretty much all week.
We stayed in the car while everyone else ran inside to an oil museum. Stella pulled herself up on to her carseat.
That wore her out...
Stella got to go visit her other great grandmother, Stella, too. I realized when I set her down for this photo that she had never sat in the grass. She really liked pulling it out, so it was hard to get a good photo of her.
Next stop...Swedish Festival!!
Like Garrett and Gus, Stella's favorite toy was Gram's cane.
She hitched a ride through Jewett.
Parade time... (And, boy, was it an interesting one!)
Stella bumped her head and got her first forehead bruise at Gram's. This was the best photo I could get of it. It was the first of many..she has already had several more!
After a fast visit, it was time to come home. We were ready to be back with Jarrett. He missed Stella. We were gone a whole week.
Saying the flight back was long is an understatement. Three hour car ride to the airport, a delay getting out of Pittsburgh. We finally left and were told we would miss our connection in Houston. When I got off the plan in Houston, our names were being called to get on the next flight. We RAN across the airport and caught it just in time....Just in time to sit on the Tarmac for TWO hours. TWO hours...TWO hours after all day of traveling. The people sitting around us were so sweet and helpful. Stella ripped apart a Spirit magazine to keep herself busy.
After 13+ hours of waiting, rushing, waiting, sitting, we made it home! Stella was so excited to see Jarrett. This is my favorite photo of them.
