Weekend Away!

Over the weekend of October 18th, we went to visit Beaumont for the LU homecoming.  We left on Thursday to drive to Austin.  Jarrett had some calls to make in Austin on Friday morning.  Stella and I shopped until he was finished, and then we left for Beaumont Friday afternoon.  There was lots of drive time and Stella's favorite pastime is NOT riding in the car.  We still had a great weekend.

We try to pack light, but that never works.

We made it to Austin around 8 PM and there was a Cracker Barrell next door.  Stella was in heaven.  Like me, she loves breakfast food anytime of the day!

The next morning, our frist stop was Ikea.

Stella loves the play tunnel.  I got one for her for Christmas, but she ended up getting it early.

We visited a few more shops, then stopped at Starbucks.  I let her climb on the dirty concrete and get as much of her energy out as possible.

Then it was time to head to Beaumont.  Not Stella's favorite part of the day...

We finally made it and met our friends out at dinner.

Breakfast at Julee's

We went to lunch and met up with this cutie, Silas.

Then it was football time! Thanks, Blane, for putting this beer in the pic.

Lamar lost in the 2nd half, but we still had fun!

Teeth!

According to the peditrician, Stella has an "abnormal tooth eruption pattern".  According to Stella's Papa, she has "vampire syndrome."  Either way, it is super cute that Stella got her incisors first around Halloween, because for a couple weeks, she looked like a little vampire.  One top middle tooth finally poked through, though in mid-October.

One night when Jarrett was out of town, Stella had some pretty bad chest congestion.  She kept waking up in the night, so we sat in the bathroom with the shower running and read books.

The next day we were lazy.

When we go to BSF, Gus and Garrett and Stella always are very excited to see eachother.

It was a busy week, but we managed to squeeze in a date night.  In August, we made a pact to go on a date on or around the 15th of the month so we don't forget. So far, we have not missed a month! In October, we went to Studio Movie Grill and watched the movie Gravity.  It was pretty good, but the company was better!

Stella's BFF

We have so much fun hanging with our neighbors and friends, Stevie and her two kiddos Rhett and Blair.  Blair and Stella are just a couple of weeks apart in age.  We alway have fun with t

Just hanging out in the playroom while the moms and dads enjoy dinner!

One Monday, Stevie and had decided to take the whole crew to the Fort Worth Musem of Science, where they have a Curious George exhibit.  We had fun! It was busy becuase school was out for Columbus day.  AFter the museum, we went to have lunch at Fireside Pies and then did some shopping at Trader Joe's.  It was a full day, but we had a blast.

10 Months Old

After a very quick month, Stella Beth is 10 months old!

Stella is quite the little character.  She definitely knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it.  We finally got over her phase of not sleeping.  She is back to sleeping from 8:15 or so until 6-7:30.  She occasionally wakes up for a bottle in the early morning.  She usually takes two naps.  She takes a shorter nap (45 min- 1 hour) in the morning and a longer nap in the afternoon.

Stella is standing on her own now but has not taken any steps.  She still loves anything electronic.  She also has her own cabinet in the kitchen full of plastic ware, cups, and bowls,  She enjoys openings the cabinets and tearing everything out of it.  She has not learned how to put it back.  Stella is saying "Mama", "Dada", and "It-tol".  The word 'no' is becoming very popular in our house.  Sometimes when I tell her "No, no, Stella," she will repeat back "doe, doe doe".  She copies us, A LOT.  She is silly, sassy, and so funny.  I just love this little girl.  My favorite thing Stella does at this age is her kisses.  She does not always give them.  If she is excited or happy, she will lean in and give us a real kiss.  Sometimes the "smooch" sound is delayed, but she does do it.  If I am working in the kitchen or somewhere, sometimes she will crawl up and kiss my leg.  She also kisses Bristol and her favorite toys.

I just love how much of her personality has developed this month.  This is such a fun age.  I can't wait to see what is coming in this next month.

It is fall, yall!

October 9, 2013
Our first visit to a pumpkin patch! We skipped BSF and went to the pumpkin patch with a group from church.  It was not exactly fall weather, but we had fun anyway.

Later in the week, we went to another pumpkin patch for a story time!
